Enjoy the ride

Iowa roller coaster

In the middle of Iowa, in the middle of  corn fields newly plowed,
is a wondrous roller-coaster.
A mysterious structure made for us to terrify ourselves.
Like life. Like the writing life.
Slow cog-steps up and up. A struggle of a climb up and up.
Now at the top. Peer over. Scream. Cry. Laugh.
Hold onto loved ones. Hold onto dreams. Take the plunge.
A roller-coaster ride of meaningful work, joyful play, rest, love given and received,
Enjoy the ride.
